Rope access is a form of work positioning, initially developed from techniques used in climbing and caving. RTS have applied these practical rope-work solutions for the various needs of the renewables and wireless communications sectors, however we firmly believe that these skills and services can be easily transferred across to other industries.
RTS provide specialist IRATA engineers, vastly experience in specialist access techniques.
There are three main areas where RTS currently use rope access:
- Inspection & Testing
- Cleaning & Painting
- Maintenance & Repair
Rope access can generate considerable cost savings because:
- Rapid installation and dismantling of the access systems causes minimal disruption and eliminates the cost of using plant machinery
- Rope systems can be installed and dismantled quickly which means they are removed from site at the end of each shift. This minimises potential for vandalism and theft
- A single point of contact for the client. Rope access technicians provide both access and undertake the required work
- A practical, safe solution with the ability to solve awkward and troublesome problems that might otherwise absorb a disproportionate amount of time and money
